Oh I hate that question....but eventually more will be revealed. Sometimes it is such a puzzlement. It is certainly taking much longer than I ever expected. Stayed tuned for updates on the progress of the process. My friend Richard calls me jendi, I call him Dick.Mac. For a number of years I was known as DJ. Some folks call me Di. This is what I look like today. John Travolta, Cybill Sheperd, Yoko Ono, Jack Palance and Adolphe Menjou were all born on MY birthday..February 18. Only John Travolta is the same age (1954).Who was born on YOUR Birthday? I have lived in Boston since October of 1976. You may know me from some of the other places I have lived: Phoenix AZ; San Carlos CA; Edina MN; Green Bay WI; Wilton CT; Appleton WI; Madison WI and the University of Wisconsin. Baseball is my favorite sport. I am a member of a Fantasy Baseball League. The team is mediocre even with Pedro as a starting pitcher. I work. What I do has changed significantly over the past few years. I have switched from travel and computers to Human Resources. Who knew? I love to read. My dog's name is Shadow. He was adopted from the MSPCA shelter at Angell Memorial in Boston, February 2002. I am a woman of many moods. I ask myself questions all the time. Do you do that? You could also know me from the family I keep. One sister lives in Tucson, another in New Jersey and another in San Diego. My brother lives in Europe. Various other relatives live in Arizona, Michigan, Texas, California, Canada and Australia. I love my nieces and nephew. I have a friend named Bill W. Style is important. I learned about style from my Great Grandmother Connie. She lived in Clifton, a copper mining town in Eastern Arizona. When she discovered our parents had neglected to ever feed us onion rings she took my two sisters and I up to the county seat, Morenci. We wore dresses with full crinoline slips and white gloves. Connie wore a hat and gloves. We went to the lunch counter at the drug store, sat on stools, and learned to eat onion rings like ladies. That was a life lesson. I still love onion rings, lunch counters and white gloves. Some women I admire are the Queen of England, Aretha Franklin, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Suzanne Pleshette, Oriana Fallaci, Emma Goldman and Margaret Sanger. They all have style. My hair started to turn gray when I was 29. My mother claimed it was from "your father's side" which is her standard response when any of her daughters complain about some inherited physical trait. I did my best to creatively hide the gray and wore a number of different "shades": red, chestnut, aubergine, auburn, brunette and blonde. Today, it is what it is (and that is quite nice thank you)... it is a much easier way to be! These days my mother now says I got it from her side of the family. Life is good. Happiness and contentment were elusive for many years but now I have found what I always was looking for. Life really did begin at forty for me. |
