I got my first pair of glasses for reading at age 40 and now have made the switch to bifocals. (By the way it is not true what "they" say....men do make passes at girls who wear bifocals). The transition to glasses was not easy as I had 20/20 vision but then I saw the world much differently than most for all those years. Now I read in the Boston Globe that glasses are as trendy as a pierced nose or shaved head! When I ordered the bifocals (referred to by the optician as the B word) a rather large notation was put on my record "FIRST BIFOCALS" and this was when I thought I had reached that certain age when firsts were no longer applicable. Made me think of some firsts in my life. This list is updated as frequently as my memory catches up. Check out Dick.Mac's first's page.
